More on the Arkansas Jihadi... and our Commander In Chief remains MIA

The suspect, Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, reportedly had been under investigation by an FBI joint terrorism task force after he traveled to Yemen and was arrested there for using a Somali passport. The probe was in its early stages and based on Muhammad's trip to Yemen, according to ABC News.

While there, Muhammad — a U.S. citizen from Memphis who is a convert to Islam and was previously known as Carlos Bledsoe — studied jihad with an Islamic scholar, Jihadwatch.org reported.

A well-placed source has told me that Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, who shot one soldier and wounded another at an Arkansas military recruiting station yesterday, went to Yemen hoping to study with a jihadist imam, Yahya Hajoori. I haven't yet been able to find out know if he actually studied directly with Hajoori, or with one of his students.

Remember that in August 2008, six Americans were arrested in Yemen. They attended a mosque in Germantown, Pennsylvania that sponsored "students" to go to Yemen to study with the jihadist Sheikh Muqbil -- and after he passed away, with Yahya Hajoori. This was the mosque attended by Howard Cain, the bank robber and killer of Police Officer Stephen Liczbinski.

Also according to Jihad Watch:  He was a former business major at Tennessee State.

And I'm still waiting for Obama to condemn the attack on the Army recruiting station.  He had the perfect opportunity when he announced the new Secretary of the Army.  But said nothing.  There's been nothing from the DOJ or the Pentagon either according to Michelle Malkin.

No surprise here as NPR continues to aid and abet the terrorists by refusing to mention the suspects name or religion in their report. (also according to Michelle.  I refuse to link to them)

Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska HAS issued this statement.

"The stories of two very different lives with similar fates crossed through the media's hands yesterday - both equally important but one lacked the proper attention. The death of 67-year old George Tiller was unacceptable, but equally disgusting was another death that police believe was politically and religiously motivated as well.

William Long died yesterday. The 23-year old Army Recruiter was gunned down by a fanatic; another fellow soldier was wounded in the ambush. The soldiers had just completed their basic training and were talking to potential recruits, just as my son, Track, once did.

Whatever titles we give these murderers, both deserve our attention. Violence like that is no way to solve a political dispute nor a religious one. And the fanatics on all sides do great disservice when they confuse dissention with rage and death."

Sharia Flu: It's spreading.

It's now the official law of the land in Somalia (oxymoronic, I know.)

The president of Somalia's interim government, Sheikh Sharif Ahmed, has officially signed Shari'ah into law as the Horn of Africa country's national legislation, Radio Garowe reports.

President Sheikh Sharif told a press conference at the Villa Somalia presidential compound on Wednesday afternoon that he is unaware of why armed groups oppose the law.

About those 'armed groups'?  They are now being joined by government troops putting Somalia on the verge of al-Qaeda takeover.

Meanwhile, just across the Gulf of Aden:  Al Qaeda calls for Islamic rule after Yemen violence

Al Qaeda on Wednesday called for Islamic rule in Yemen and vowed to retaliate for what it said was the killing of civilians in clashes between police and locals in the south, where secessionist sentiment is strong.

The country is trying to shake off an image of violence and lawlessness to promote tourism and foreign investment. It is battling Al Qaeda, separatist calls in the south and Shia rebels in the north. “The time for the rule of Islam has come so that you could bask in the justice and tolerance it brings,”

LOL about that basking "in justice and tolerance that Sharia brings"  line.

Yemen: Al Qaeda tricked bomber into 'sploding himself

And they expect us to believe it.

Well, not according to the bomber's family:

The official identified the bomber as Abdel Rahman Mehdi al-Aajbari and said he had trained in Somalia, a failed Horn of Africa country that Western security services fear could be a base for al Qaeda-linked militants.

Aajbari had left his family home in the Yemeni province of Taiz around two months ago, he said.  In a letter to his mother delivered by one of his fellow fighters, Aajbari wrote that his family would never see him again and that he believed he was on the "true path", the official said.

Or the jihadi video that he left.

Hamid Al-Kurashi, the head of Hadramaut police, said investigators found a video message the suicide bomber, a teenager, had left. The Korean Foreign Ministry said it is checking the facts.

Or the 12 Islamists that the Yemeni government has rounded up for questioning.

Now, there's a trick for you. 

Yemen Again: Four S Korean tourists killed in blast

Bomb strikes 'Manhattan in the Desert'.  The symbolism is rife, the culprits undoubtedly Muslim.

Four South Korean tourists were killed and four more wounded by an explosion in the historic city of Shibam in southeast Yemen, a Yemeni security official and Seoul's foreign ministry said.

"According to a preliminary toll, the explosion killed four South Korean tourists and wounded four more, as well as a Yemeni man," the official told AFP by telephone from Shibam in Hadramawt province.

"We think the blast was caused by a bomb that had been planted there," the official added, speaking on condition of anonymity.

The security official said the blast came as the tourists were photographing the sunset and that an inquiry had been launched.

"The explosion happened as they were gathered on a hill called Khazzan that overlooks the city. They were on foot and taking pictures of the buildings in Shibam at the moment the sun went down," he added.

In Seoul a foreign ministry statement confirmed the death of two South Korean men and two women in an apparent bomb attack.

The four wounded are in hospital but not in critical condition, a ministry official told Yonhap news agency. The Seoul government called an emergency meeting of related agencies.

Shibam, some 800 kilometres (500 miles) southeast of Sanaa, is a UNESCO world heritage site well known for its high-rise mud-brick buildings that have given it the nickname of the "Manhattan of the desert."

Yemen is the cesspool of Islam and has a revolving door policy on terror.

Somalia: Pirates release Yemeni fishing ship

No word as to whether or not a ransom was paid or whether tribal elders intervened on the behalf of their Yemeni Muslim brothers with the Pirates.  (That's what happened the last time.)

MV Falluja freed.

Somali pirates have released one of two Yemeni fishing ships they hijacked earlier this month, a Yemeni Coast Guard source said Saturday.

The source said the ship MV Falluja arrived with 12 crewmen on board at the southern port of Aden Saturday after the pirates freed it. The source would not say whether a ransom was paid.

Pirates attacked the two ships - MV Falluja and MV Qana'a - in the Gulf of Aden on December 10 and took 22 fishermen hostage. MV Qana'a was still being held by the pirates on Saturday, the source said.

A father of one of the 17 sailors killed in the 2000 USS Cole terrorism attack has been banned from visiting his son's grave at the Arlington National Cemetery. Jesse Nieto, a 25-year Marine veteran, has been banned because of displaying “offensive material" such as decals which say “Remember the Cole, 12 Oct 2000,” “Islam=Terrorism” and “We Died, They Rejoiced.”

A federal lawsuit is in the process of being filed and I wish Mr. Nieto every success. 

Now even Yemen is getting into the pirate act

It's the second attack off the coast of Yemen this week.  This time the cargo was "unspecified chemicals".  Hmmm.
 

Pirates have hijacked a Turkish chemical tanker in the Gulf of Aden, the Anatolia news agency reports, quoting the Turkish maritime agency.

Reports say the tanker had 14 crew members on board when it was seized on Wednesay.

The Karagol, a ship bound for India, was hijacked 26km off the coast of Yemen, a statement from the maritime affairs directorate said.  It was carrying 4,500 tonnes of unspecified chemicals.

Turkish officials sought assistance from British navy ships, the statement said.                 

It did not say whether the attackers were from nearby Somalia and no one was immediately available for comment at the directorate.
