It took quite a circuitous route - but this is the latest. (I just hope it's not a cruel hoax from some Cyberjihad scumbag):

But now reports sent from someone in Afghanistan say Bowe is "still alive and doing well." A round-about way to find out: The news came in a series of e-mails from village leaders and doctors in Afghanistan to two Army Reserve physicians who had won trust while stationed there, the Newark Star-Ledger in New Jersey reported. Idaho National Guard spokesman Lt. Col. Tim Marsano told the Idaho Mountain Express that he has received no official response to the messages, which were shared with the State Department.
Still holding out hope: More than 10,000 people have joined Bergdahl's support page on Facebook, where his girlfriend, Monica Lee, maintains a vigil. "Thanksgiving was kinda hard without you," she wrote recently. "Please don't make me go through Christmas without you too."
Bless you, Monica. You are in my thoughts.
About the dynamic duo Docs who gained the trust of the warlords? They look like the real deal and represent another important front in the War on Terror.
If I thought they'd take me, I'd strap on my nursing helmet and go myself:
<--- They're twins, dudes!
From nj.com:
The e-mails from Afghanistan came in almost daily to an unlikely place, a local doctors' office. The messages warned about impending attacks and provided information about a kidnapped American soldier. The doctors receiving them were unsure what to do about the information until one correctly predicted a bombing in Mehtar Lam, a provincial capital in the country’s east. (Ed. Note: Mehtar Lam = Bait. Is Pfc. Bowe Bergdahl the switch?) "That’s when we started forwarding them to the State Department," says Vincent Moss.
The suicide bombing killed 21 people Sept. 2, including the second-ranking official of the Afghan intelligence services, a close ally of the nation’s president. "We figured if these people knew what they were talking about, we shouldn’t ignore them — other people with responsibility had to know," says the cardiac surgeon. He runs the medical office with his identical twin, Vance, a urologist and surgeon.
The Moss twins say the e-mails came from village leaders and local doctors the two physicians worked with in three trips to the country. "They trusted us and we trust them because they took care of us when we were there," says Vince.
The brothers, 38, are both majors in the Army Reserve who spent a tour of duty in Iraq last year. In September, they returned from their third trip to Afghanistan in three years, traveling for a month to eastern areas close to the Pakistani border.
They bring medical supplies to local clinics and perform surgery on residents, concentrating on children. Despite their military status, they go unarmed and say they rely primarily on local villagers for security. "We’re never sure exactly who we’re meeting with,’’ says Vance. "We don’t know who’s Taliban and who’s not. That’s not the point — we’re there to help people."
Their help includes Viagra. I'm not sure that's such a good idea given that child bride/polygamy thing and all. That may just be me. What do you think? Read it all and tell me.

An update on Bowe R. Bergdahl.
Thanks for the update Dinah, been a long while since we heard anything about him. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

You're welcome, MK. I'm glad to hear that he is still alive and doing well - and I can't begin to imagine the hell his family is going through.
You sure don't hear much about his plight from the MSM - or the US State department. Hillary is too busy unveiling Colin Powell's portrait and talking to the Italians about the Amanda Knox thing, I guess.
(Okay, that last bit was just plain snarky - I admit it.)
