The full text of President Obama's remarks can be found here.
As President, my greatest responsibility is the security of the American people. It is the first thing I think about when I wake up in the morning. It's the last thing I think about when I go to sleep at night. That responsibility is the heart of the policies my administration has put in place. (ed.note: o rlly? You sure could have fooled me.)
It's interesting. After looking at the text of the speech and counting the usage of the following words - you'd almost think WE attacked ourselves, wouldn't you?
Use of 'Terror' and its variants, 'terrorism' and 'terrorist/s': 2
Use of 'extremists': 2
Use of 'al Qaeda': 1
Use of 'attack' and its variants, 'attack/s/ed/ers': 6
Use of 'America/American/United States: 6
Use of Military/Army/Marines: 5
Use of 'WE' and its variants of 'our/ours/ourselves': 44
Use of 'I' and its variants 'me/my/mine': 9
Dinah Lord,
Thank you for posting the President's 9/11 speech, and for your incisive comments.
