Another day, another dhimmi tried for adultery in Dubai.

British mother and her lover jailed for two months for adultery in Dubai.

It's the same old story.  Woman meets Muslim man and falls in love.  They marry and move to a Muslim country.  Life is beautiful - for a while.  Then things don't work out.  If you are in a civilized country,  all that happens is a divorce.

If you are in a Muslim country, you end up jailed, deported and you lose your kids.  Forever.

When will Western women learn?

A British mother has been sentenced to two months in a Dubai prison after she and her boyfriend were found guilty of adultery - a crime in the ultra-strict Gulf state.

Sally Antia was arrested after her estranged husband Vincent told police she was conducting an affair with Mark Hawkins, a construction manager.

Mr Antia, a 48-year-old pilot, is thought to have informed police about the affair to benefit from laws under which 'wronged' husbands get custody of the children.

Now both Mrs Antia, 44, who has lived in Dubai for 13 years, and her 43-year-old boyfriend will spend the next month in the spartan Al Aweer prison after which they will be deported to Britain.

Under Emirati law, there is very little legal provision for Mrs Antia to get custody of her two girls, aged 11 and 13, who are being looked after by their father in Dubai.

And being convicted of a ' dishonour' crime could wreck her chances completely.

Friends of Mr and Mrs Antia said their marriage had been in trouble for years, but that they had agreed to stay together for the sake of their children.

One friend said: 'They were open about the fact that their relationship was over.

'Vincent was happy for Sally to go out with other people. He knew about it and it wasn't a problem. So everyone was astonished when they heard that he had informed the police on her.'

Remember Marnie Pierce?  The UK mother whose Egyptian husband took the kids and had her brought up on charges of adultery?  Well, she's done her time and has been released.  She will stay in Dubai in an attempt to regain custody of her kids.

Well, good luck with that, Marnie.  Chances are you will never see those kids again, much less gain custody.  Your so-called rights are toast.  That's what happens when you marry a Muslim man.

A spokesman for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office confirmed that Miss Pearce, originally from Bracknell, Berkshire, left her Dubai jail on Monday morning. The supply teacher, who lost custody of her sons, Laith, eight, and Ziad, four, last month, had faced deportation upon her release from prison.

But this has now been put on hold while she fights to win back her children.

Miss Pearce was imprisoned in February and held in the women's section of Dubai Central Jail in Al Awir, in the United Arab Emirates.

She launched two appeals against her conviction but both were unsuccessful.

Today the Foreign and Commonwealth Office said it welcomed the suspended deportation.

"We have been in touch with the UAE authorities about Ms Pearce's case and requested that the deportation be suspended while the child custody case was ongoing", a spokesman said.

Okay I've been following this story here and here and here.  And quite frankly, I didn't give the woman much slack.  Saying things like, "Mama, don't let your babies grow up to marry Muslims" and "she knew what she was getting into".  Things like that. 

Well, I don't think she thought she was getting into this.

And to tell the truth, possums, it's even a shaky proposition here in the states.  Especially if you take the veil and live in a Muslim community that lives under 'shadow Sharia'. 

Ladies, I am here to tell you, you will NEVER come up even in a divorce with a Muslim man under those conditions, much less win. 

Aside from the fact that I wonder who set up the video filming of the handover of the children to their Muslim father, I do think the video is instructive. 

Your heart would have to be pretty hardened not to feel sorry for this woman and her children.

A British mum on the run collapsed screaming yesterday as she was forced to hand over her children to her ex-husband in Dubai.

Marnie Pearce, 40, may never see her two sons — Laith, seven, and Ziad, four — as she faces three months in jail and then deportation after she was convicted for adultery in the strict Muslim country.

The teaching assistant says her Egyptian ex, Ihab El Labban, trumped up the affair to get full custody of their children, a claim he denies. She took her boys into hiding after she failed to overturn her conviction in January.

But yesterday Marnie, originally from Bracknell, Berks, gave herself up. She said: “I have done nothing wrong. This feels unreal. I never had an affair.”

Dubai's opulent, multimillion-pound New Year's Eve celebrations have been cancelled due to the Gaza violence, leaving hordes of expatriates hastily making alternative plans.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ruler of the Gulf state, called off festivities late last night.

He said "all public New Year’s celebrations" should be stopped "in solidarity with the Palestinian people, who are currently enduring death, suffering and destruction in Gaza".

The city, home to thousands of Western expatriate businesspeople and tourists, usually holds spectacular public firework displays and open-air entertainments worth millions.

Dubai: No Sex on the Beach Guide

Mind your p's and q's...or else.

One of Dubai’s most popular beach hotels has issued guests with an “etiquette guide” after two Britons were convicted for having sex on the beach near the hotel.

The etiquette guides, which suggest the hotel’s guests could be arrested for inappropriate public displays, are left on tables during the weekly brunch event at the Madinat Jumeirah hotel.

The guests should "employ discretion" in expressing affection publicly, says the hotel, with "anything more than a peck on the cheek" likely to result in police involvement.
