As we mourn their loss, we must also send a clear and resolute message to the world: those who attack our people will find no escape from justice. We will not waver in their pursuit. And we will never allow anyone to shake the resolve of the United States of America.
President Partial-Birth Abortion says he rejects the denigration of any religion - well, except if you are Roman Catholic, Christian or Jewish, of course
"...I have made it clear that the United States has a profound respect for people of all faiths. We stand for religious freedom. And we reject the denigration of any religion – including Islam."
Is he back in the bath salts again?
"Yet there is never any justification for violence. There is no religion that condones the targeting of innocent men and women."
The sacred injunction concerning war is ... is established as a divine ordinance, by the word of God, who has said, in the Koran, "slay the infidels", and also by a saying of the prophet, "war is permanently established until the day of judgement," (meaning the ordinance respecting war)....
The destruction of the sword is incurred by infidels, although they be not the first aggressors, as appears from various passages in the sacred writings which are generally received to this effect.
When the Mussulmans (i.e. Muslims) enter the enemy’s country, and besiege the cities or strongholds of the infidels, it is necessary to invite them to embrace the faith, because Ibn Abbas relates of the prophet that "he never destroyed any without previously inviting them to embrace the faith." If, therefore, they embrace the faith, it is unnecessary to war with them, because that which was the design of the war is then obtained without war. The prophet, moreover, has said, "we are directed to make war upon man until such time as they shall confess THERE IS NO GOD BUT ONE GOD; but when they repeat this creed, their persons and properties are in protection." –
Our Preezy goes on to assert that the US will never tolerate fellow Americans being harmed. Unfortunately, Agent Brian Terry was unavailable for comment.
There is no excuse for attacks on our Embassies and Consulates. And so long as I am Commander-in-Chief, the United States will never tolerate efforts to harm our fellow Americans.
Need more lip service? Forward!
"Right now, we are doing whatever we can to protect Americans who are serving abroad. We are in contact with governments around the globe, to strengthen our cooperation, and underscore that every nation has a responsibility to help us protect our people. We have moved forward with an effort to see that justice is done for those we lost, and we will not rest until that work is done." (emphasis added)
After months of campaigning, multiple visits and millions spent on advertising, Barack Obama and Mitt Romney are dead even in Colorado, according to a new Denver Post poll.
The poll results — first announced Friday on the noon broadcast of DPTV— show Obama ahead of Romney by a single, statistically insignificant percentage point, 47 to 46 percent. When former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson, who is running as the Libertarian nominee for president, is factored in, Obama's single-percentage-point lead remains, 45 percent to 44 percent. Johnson registers at 3 percent of the vote.
Both samples have a margin of error of plus or minus four percentage points.
Romney's support is strongest among whites, military families, gun owners, voters in Colorado Springs and opponents of abortion. Obama's support is strongest among women, Hispanics, voters in the metro area, voters who earn less than $40,000 a year and supporters of abortion access.
The poll was conducted for The Post by the firm SurveyUSA. Pollsters contacted 750 Colorado adults — 676 of whom are registered voters — between Sunday and Wednesday. Of those, 615 were seen as likely voters.
Voters reached on their home phone — roughly three-quarters of those polled — answered recorded surveys. The approximately 25 percent of voters contacted via cellphone filled out a questionnaire using their smartphone or tablet.
Of voters included in the sample, 34 percent said they are Republicans, 34 percent said they are Democrats and 30 percent identified as unaffiliated voters.
A further breakdown of the numbers can be found at the Denver Post here.
I never thought I would see the day in these United States of America when fear of Muslim reprisal forces a man to hide his face and have police guards just to walk out of his house. In the dead of night. This isn't America, folks.
The Californian man behind the anti-Islamic movie that has caused outrage across the Muslim world emerged from hiding this morning to be interviewed by federal probation officers.
With his face obscured behind a hat, glasses and a scarf, Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, 55 was taken to a sheriff's station in his hometown of Cerritos by deputies of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's department.
After arriving at his home just after midnight deputies escorted Nakoula to an awaiting car and he was taken to the station where he was questioned over his involvement in the film production which has been blamed for the mass protests across the Middle East which resulted in the death of four American citizens on Wednesday.
AL-Qaeda said the deadly attack on the US consulate in Benghazi, Libya was in revenge for the killing of the network's number two Sheikh Abu Yahya al-Libi, SITE Intelligence Group reported.
"The killing of Sheikh Abu Yahya only increased the enthusiasm and determination of the sons of (Libyan independence hero) Omar al-Mokhtar to take revenge upon those who attack our Prophet," said al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula said in a statement, quoted by the US-based monitoring group.
Al-Qaida's Yemen-based offshoot did not claim direct responsibility for Tuesday's attack on the US consulate in Benghazi that killed the US ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens, and three other Americans.
But it stressed that "the uprising of our people in Libya, Egypt and Yemen against America and its embassies is a sign to notify the United States that its war is not directed against groups and organisations ... but against the Islamic nation that has rebelled against injustice."
The statement comes four days after al-Qaida chief Ayman al-Zawahiri issued a video eulogising Libi, his late deputy and propaganda chief who was killed in a drone strike in June.
Mohammed al-Megaryef, the head of Libya's national assembly, said today that the attack on the US consulate in Benghazi was planned and "meticulously executed."
At an event officials say was planned before the attacks in Libya that killed four Americans on Sept. 11, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the Libyan Ambassador to the U.S., Ali Aujali, celebrated the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan at the State Department on Thursday.
The Eid ul-Fitr reception was held almost a month after the official end of the month on Aug. 19, delayed, officials say, because of Clinton’s travel schedule.
“The date [of the reception] was set purely because of scheduling considerations, especially given lengthy travel abroad recently,” a State Department spokesman told CNSNews.com via email.
The spokesman provided a copy of the Secretary’s schedule, showing that Thursday’s event was scheduled about 24 hours ahead of the attack on the U.S. embassy in Benghazi that resulted in the death of U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans.
“Although I am many weeks overdue in saying it: Eid Mubarak,” Clinton said. “No matter how belated we are honoring Eid and the end of Ramadan, this is a cherished tradition here at the State Department.” (emphasis added)
The American Cooperative School of Tunis, which caters to expatriate families and is located across the street from the embassy, was burned and completely plundered by protesters, who carried away a range of items including hundreds of laptop computers, children’s toys and musical instruments, the director of the school and members of his staff said. All of the students and faculty members had been evacuated hours before the embassy protest.
“It’s ransacked,” the director, Allan Bredy, said in a telephone interview. “We were thinking it was something the Tunisia government would keep under control. We had no idea they would allow things to go as wildly as they did.”
Raising banners with Islamic slogans and denouncing the United States and Israel, Iraqis called for the expulsion of American diplomats from the country and demanded that the American government apologize for the incendiary film and take legal action against its creators.
“We want the U.S. government to prove that there is justice by stopping this movie and punishing the director and his staff,” said Sheik Ahmad al-A’ani, a preacher at a mosque in Baghdad.
"Today is your last day, ambassador!", read one placard, while another said: "America is the devil".
"We can forgive anything, except to insult the Prophet," said a teenage protester who identified himself as Motahar. Another teenager, Mahmoud, said: "We are going to keep demonstrating until the United States bans the film."
That Movie: How The Innocence of Muslims Was Made When struggling actor Tim Dax was hired to star in a swords-and-sandals movie titled Desert Warrior, he was just happy to have the job. One year later, Dax and the rest of the film’s cast and crew would look on in horror as The Innocence of Muslims—a crudely dubbed version of the movie they thought they were making—ignited protests across the Arab world and controversy at home. Speaking with many of the film’s principals, Michael Joseph Gross reports on a story as old as Hollywood itself: a pursuit of fame and fortune that ended in tears.
Pravda to Americans: Never Give Up Your Guns "These days, there are few few things to admire about the socialist, bankrupt and culturally degenerating USA, but at least so far, one thing remains: the right to bare arms and use deadly force to defend one's self and possessions."
