God, I wish I could tell you why this sideways pic always happens on Photoshow!
I'm thinking about ditching them.
It was a beautiful fall day for a protest here in Colorado. Sunny and warm. I'd say there were about 100 protestors in all. It would have been nice to have a larger turnout - just saying. But a good time was had by all.
The plan of action was to assemble outside of the local NBC affiliate and then march down to the ABC affiliate down the street.
Press coverage of the event was a joke. No surprises there.
NBC didn't even deign to send anyone out, other than a security guard who yelled at us if we stepped off the sidewalk onto the grass.
ABC sent out their interns - it looked like they might have been having a hard time figuring out their cameras ( I can relate). It was kind of cute, though.
We walked past the local Fox station and they didn't send out anybody either.
I think print media, aka the Denver Post may have had a cub photog there.
I was thrilled to meet local photo-bloggers, El Marco and BobTea2. (As soon as they get their photo essays up I will be linking them.)
The only guy I saw being interviewed by ABC was wearing a press pass himself...wtf? I was so stunned I missed the shot - but so did El Marco. We commiserated about it.
It was nice to make some new friends and my hat is off to the Broomfield 9-12 group. They have an awesome group and always make a big splash at these events.
I hope you enjoy the pics and that they inspire you to make your own statement.
Now, is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country, possums.
Update: 10:30 PM MST - Have you seen the Chicago vid? It's here and worth a click for sure. (h/t FReeper Velveeta.)
Update: 10:45 pm MST - Van Helsing at Moonbattery checks in with an update from Phoenix.
Update: 10:53 pm MST - The 4th Horseman has the report from Sacramento. Odd. The media didn't cover their protest either. Go figure.
Update: 11:30 pm MST - Gee, it's all Balloon Boy Hoax all the time at the local ABC affiliate. And NBC must stand for ' Nothing But Crickets' at Denver's local outlet. Not a word about the protest there, either.
Update: 11:35 pm MST - The hits just keep on happening. There was a spirited group in Greeley CO today, too. Thanks weldgophardline. Great pics and that grandbaby is ADORABLE!
Update: 11:43 pm MST - WND has a good round up here, too. (h/t to the creamy and dreamy Velveeta)
Update:11:57 pm MST - Be sure and check Operation Can You Hear Us Now for the latest updates. They have got video reports from Portland and Shreveport up as of this writing.
Update: 12:33 pm MST - Naples FL, saw more than a 100 protestors (w/ photos at the link) I'm on a roll: Fredericksburg, TX. Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Hagerstown, MD. Cape Fear, NC
More reporting of the PHX event - you could tell the media hated having to cover it.
And I will close for tonight with the news that the Denver Post has N-O-T-H-I-N-G on the protests at this hour.
Update: Sunday Morning 8:40 am MST - Photos of the St Louis rally can be found at the Keyboard Militia, Reboot Congress and Sharp Elbows StL. Thanks guys!
Update: October 18, 2009 8:55 am MST - Just so you know there is still N-O-T-H-I-N-G about yesterday's protest in the Denver Post online or print editions. Maybe they should be our next target...
Update 9:10 am MST - Thank you Freedom'sWorthIt for this brief report out of Raleigh NC. You have to LOL at this 'quote' from the WRAL station manager "WRAL-TV is committed to the highest journalistic standards and is dedicated to reporting with integrity." Funny, then why didn't they interview any of the protestors instead of only the station manager and why only three lousy pics?
Update 9:37 am MST - Thank you PoliticalMerc for your report of 1000 people in Atlanta. A brief slideshow can be found here. More pictures from the Atlanta Journal Constitution are here, too.
Update Monday, October 19, 6:33 pm MST. El Marco is up - just in case you didn't see him at Michelle Malkin. (He does a masterful job of busting the ABC interns!) And Adventures in Backpack Journalism (isn't that a great name for a blog?) has his report up as well.
Update Wednesday October 21, 7:10 pm MST: Thanks again to weldgophardline who forwarded the Greeley Tribune's article about the "Can You Hear Us Now?" demonstration outside their building. Stay tuned to this space for BobTea2's video on the Denver operation. It's coming!
Update: Friday, October 23, 7:50 am MST: Yay! Local photojournalist BobTea2 has his video up on youtube? Need a little something to feel good about today? Click on the link and check it out.
Great pix. Good tune too.

Your welcome, Ginny. Thank you for all the hard work that you do with the Broomfield 9-12 group. You've got a great bunch of folks who have great conviction and passion.
(I'm thinking we should give the Denver Post a little taste of it...can't believe there's no coverage from them at all...)
